Hey all!  Just wanted to let you know that I won’t be putting up any new podcasts until I throw the terrestrial version of the program (“The Saturday Night Sports Special”) up on 1/1/11.

The reason for this?  I’ve been filling in pretty regularly on ESPN 1700 The Champ here in Des Moines and have pretty much said everything I have to say sports-wise on there over the past week.  While I would love to podcast an episode of “The Frylight Reel,” I have essentially blown my talk wad on “Out of Bounds.”  Between Dec. 15th and Dec. 31st, I will have co-hosted the show 8 times and put in 16 hours of my incredibly slanted and irrationally biased sports opinions.

Just so you know, all of my recent appearances on Out of Bounds will be up on the “Podcasts” page of The Champ’s website, www.1700thechamp.com. And check out the Champ Chick of the Day.  You’ll thank me.

Looking forward to a couple of changes regarding the show.  I’m really humbled by the support and enthusiasm surrounding the “Saturday Night Sports Special,” and it means the world to me that you guys enjoy it.  And thanks for all the Twitter love!

I went 11-5 on my NFL picks this week, making me 42-20 on the season.  Granted, that’s only 4 weeks of picking, but I’m happy with it.

I’m not a news source, just a commentator.  I don’t have any new information on the Hawks, but I’ll tell you that what we know in terms of cold, hard facts is likely the tip of an iceberg.  DJK was using/dealing to players on the team?  There was an enclosed drug ring that involved only Iowa football players?  This entire story strikes me as unearthed… how could the coaching staff have not known?  They’re really going to play the plausible deniability card here?

Are you going to buy that?  I’m not…
